Ryan's Birthday Next...

Mom loved her collection of memories. Sitting around reading them that night, everyone decided that it might be fun to do it for everyone's birthday this coming year. I guess that means Ryan is next. I'll tell him he's outlawed from the blog for the next week. It might be hard on him. I know he loves checking this thing.

Post here: Memories of Ryan. I thought we should get started before too much Christmas Craziness takes over. Ryan will be a fun one. And he's going to love it.

Walking around Temple Square

We saw the lights after dropping Mom & Dad off at the Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert. Will was good for the first 10 minutes and then screamed the rest of the time. I felt like an awful mother with lots of sad looks from everyone we passed.

Organizing These Memories

We might want to change the address of all of these to second person (referring to Mom as "you"). It might make them more meaningful. I would also scatter whose memory it is through out the list and put there name in parenthesis. This might make reading them more fun and number of memories would be less of an issue. Just a thought, you don't have to take it.

Thanksgiving Fashion Show

What a family eh? Lisa and I are excited to see y'all again. Wish we could be there for the Holidays. Merry Christmas.

A Birthday Gift for Mom

I think this could be so fun if we all list memories to give to her for her birthday. I'll complile them for her if you all post some. I'll start with a few:

Making raisins on sheets in the backyard at Dunbar.

Mom teasing us about dunking graham crackers

Yoga in the kitchen (two nights ago)

Mom always coming to see us in the Bustoz Halloween parades. I loved seeing her...just waiting for us to pass by.

Mom wanting to make temple clothes for all of us.

Apricot parties - I don't think any of us will forget how she could make it so fun.

Laughing (and crying) about being bald with Dad

Mom sharing her testimony about Heavenly Father's awareness of each of us

Mom getting excited about wedding plans. I love it.

Testing the colored printer for some company. we had so much fun playing with that thing

Mom with Dawnetta and Alana

Reading for book club and loving the ladies in the ward

Mom just told us tonight that Nancy Guilliam told her that she used to come to church just because she knew Mom would be looking for her and would say hi to her. Mom has always been such a sincere friend to people. People really value their friendship with her. I love that.

I used to love following Mom around the house. I just liked to do whatever she was doing. I still like it. Just today we all talked with her in the living room all afternoon. When she moved to her bed, one by one we all followed her to her room.

Scrabble games. and Boggle.

Making meatballs

Driving to Utah and back - often with tons of canning under our feet. I don't know how Mom did that so many times. I'll bet we drove her crazy sometimes. She would always put up with our music. Joseph and the Technicolored Dreamcoat. Boy From New York City. I Want to Grow Old with you.

Wee Sing

Mom singing and teaching us to sing "Mares Eat Oats and Does Eat Oats..."

Mom's amazing lunches on car trips. -usually turkey on rolls with cheese and lettuce

Making family trips happen. She always did tons of planning and made trips happen. Sedona, Palmyra, Disney World, Salt Lake day trips

making me a prom dress, dress for senior dinner party

mom teaching me how to sew - so much patience!

so many rides home from Provo High

Driving me to work at Dad's office a couple times a week during my 1st semester freshman year

During high school I learned that Mom tries to do at least one act of kindness for someone every day. She really does it, too. She is always thinking of others.

Fixing dinners for my dinner night at the dorms

Sending Clinton down to the dorms with a bag of treats (Martinelli, banana bread) when I was first starting to get sick with the thyroid thing freshman year. That was so thoughtful. I just cried and loved knowing Mom was thinking of me.

I have always felt that our mom would do just about anything for us. She is so unselfish. She's taught me that unselfishness is a big part of what love is.

I could go on forever, it's so fun to think of all these things. I'll stop there for now...

Hal, Marvin and Bob the first story

Hal and Bob's idea of life was to make as much choas out of school. Hal and Bob called themselves the Incredacrazys and the teachers called them smart but horrible. One day Hal and Bob were feeling down. They didn't talk to anyone, laugh, or anything. In math class their teacher Mrs.Ringer said "Boy's are you paying attention at all." They had been doodling and their minds were on screensaver. Simotaniously they said " kind off." Mrs. Ringer then said "So you shold know the answer to this eqaution (6+a)/3= the sqaure root of 36." Again Simotaniously they said" a=12."
At the end of class a group came up to them and said "Why are you guys so down."the kids said. "If we told you, you wouldn't believe us." Said Bob " of course we would."said the kids "Okay will tell you" said Hal. "We need a sidekick" said Bob " A monkey" said Hal. "Why" they said. " Because it would be the coolest thing ever, think about the prehensive tail and everything" said Bob.
Hal and Bob went home and chose a promising spieces for their monkey sidekick, a squirrell monkey."Hey Hal all we need now is the monkey" said Bob " Okay, time to move to step 2" Hal said and it was decided

I will post the others after Me and Henry get it back

Hal, Marvin and Bob summarrized

I decided to tell you what Hal, Marvin and Bob is all about. Hal is a nickname in the story for Henry. Bob is me Eric and marvin is a pet squirrel monkey they get at the zoo using a disastarous plan. Hal and Bob wanted a monkey to wreck havoc and choas at school so they would not get mad at them. so pretty much 2 normal kids wrecking havoc with their pet monkey Marvin.

Hello Crew

We're thinking of using this picture for our Christmas card, but you could use it for your wedding announcement too if you want. it is priceless.

To start a blog...

I think this would be a fun way to laugh, discuss, share, and talk. I'm not sure how everything works, but we should play around with it.

Actually, I think it could be a fun way to feed off of eachother about memories. Especailly memories of Mom. Mom's idea is to not tell Dad about it. When you think of any Mom memory, post it on here. We'll give the collection to Dad for Christmas.
