More Joe & His Camera
Joe & His Camera
Lisa and I have been meaning to email some of our favorite wedding photos for a long time. We'll it is Thanksgiving morning and I have a little free time (the turkey is already set to go). As we were going through our proofs, we couldn't help noticing a few themes. This was the first one to emerge.Lisa told me to title this group of photos "Our Unofficial Photographer," but we all know Joe was just taking pictures of Julianne the whole time. I look at the group and still get a kick out of it. I guess there is just something about a new toy!

Love you all, wish we could be in Tahoe,

Clinton

Britain or Bust...
Here we come. Yes, it is official. Dad, Mom, Laura, and Alicia are headed to England on October 6, 2006. I know you are all jealous, but think, the majority of you have already been. So here we come, the United Kingdom is in for a shock. We can hardly wait and are preparing for our English adventure. Hob Nobs, Big Ben, Tower of London, and Wicked. Yes, Wicked is in London and with Idina Menzel starring as Elphaba. We've got big plans...

Laura, our Audrey

Laura has won the Utah Valley Magazine Look-A-Like contest! Alicia sent in a filled out a nomination form and left it on the office desk. Laura saw it there and put it in the trash can. Mom saw it and fished it out, put a stamp on it and sent it on its way! She had a photo shoot today at 11:00 with Bryant Livingston (the same person who did Joe and Julianne's wedding!). He took a lot of pictures and it was a ton of fun for me to watch! If you want to see pictures go to www.blphoto.com and click on event galleries, then click on Utah Valley Look-A-Like 2006, her pictures start at the number 9. She won a certificit to The Inn on the Creek for $100. She is so excited to take her wonderful little sister to either dinner or a night stay! This has been fun.
Besides the exciting Audrey.... Laura and I got our Passports in the mail today. We are hoping to go to london over UEA in October. I have just made a really cute skirt and just bought fabric to make another. I will bring both (finished or not) to Oakley to show off. Eric just won 2nd place in a tennis tournament. Ryan and I put on a movie theater on monday night that was a lot of fun. It has been fun writing so, TaTa for now!
kisses

Another Tragic Loss...
It has been a rough period of late. Once again we have lost a dear friend. The van-- the trusty 1993 Dodge Caravan-- was very unexpectedly sold a few days ago. We purchased it after the sad accident in the mountains, and it was purchased from us a couple of days ago by a neighbor up the street. Leaving a dear seventeen year old girl without transportation and the rest of the family without a friend in the driveway. One of its top selling features was not its keyless entry, but its keyless ignition. The dear mother advertized this feature to thieves, knowing a stolen car would save the effort of selling it. No one wanted it and aren't we grateful. "Grandma Betsy", as the car was dubbed, once took nine passengers to Disneyland, a carseat with the youngest strapped to the floor. We won't miss the old, stiff door, so much easier to shut going downhill, but we will miss the memories of canning under our feet on trips from Utah, blasting Technicolor music and Boys from New York City. The AM radio and casette player long gone, we were left with one choice for music-- Radio Disney. We could mourn, but there is some solace in knowing this car's life was prolonged as it carried an MBA student and her new baby to and from the airport, making funny noises and strange rattles all down I-15. Our happy van-- with a wide black stripe and large tinted windows. Those were the days. We may not have the car, but gratefully we do have all the memories.

Start an Obituary Section...
Maybe we should start an obituary section for our family blog. Today we lost another dear friend. At approximately 8:11 pm, our small blue Honda was sold for a price of $900. This dear car has been through an awful lot with our family. In its prime, the "Honda" accompanied Dad to years of work at Snell and Wilmer. Then suddenly it was replaced by the suave white acura and its duties changed. The car became Clinton, Natalie, and Julianne's main transport. It wasn't an easy task. Suffering two or three accidents, the "Honda" held on without air conditioning, radio antenna, or power steering. The car endured trips to Utah from Texas and Arizona. What a great little car. We'll forever miss the dear "Honda".

It is Saturday
This is Ryan and Mom writing. Today we have two cars in the classified. We hope they sell! The real reason I want to write is I am missing my Chaco's. Can anyone help me find them? The real reason Ryan is writing is he would like more blogging from his sibblings. He likes looking at the blog but often feels that he is the only one that checks or writes. Oh Alicia is sitting here too. She hopes that the cars sell so that we can buy Grandma's car and drive around looking like old people. Some people are here now. They went for a ride in the van and now are going for a ride in the Honda. We are planning lots of end of the year parties this week. Laura a waffle party on Fri. Morning, Alicia barbeque on Thurs. night, and Eric one on Friday night. Eric is leaving elementary school, Alicia Middle School and Laura says it is tradition to have an end of the year waffle party. Well Dad is back in we are going to go have dinner. Hope to hear from you on the blog.

Epitaph of the Apricot Tree
It is with deep sorrow that we recognize the loss of our neighbor's dear apricot tree. The tree passed on earlier today along with others of its kind in the yard yonder. The tree died at the mercy of a chainsaw, reasons and motives are unknown.
The apricot tree was a source of not only bottles of sweet nectar, but of savory dried treats. I don't think there will ever be a better party planner than our blessed apricot tree. She hosted many late night events drawing the young and old, each working to draw out the sweet juices. So many memories. If the tree were still alive today, she would undoubtedly provide hours of pleasure and work for anyone who wished to partake of her offerings. This tree will forever be remembered for the fruits of her labor and the unselfish gifts from across the fence.

Happy Easter
This is Mom...
Can't remember what my name and password are...
Today is Easter. We just had waffles after church and are going to Linda's for the annual Easter dinner and egg hunt. I'm wishing that Clinton, Lisa, Natalie, JJ and especially Will could be here. I'm also wishing you would all come for the FHE egg hunt tomorrow. We are counting days until Natalie comes for her graduation but more than that we are throwing Will an early first bday party and are really excited for that.
Laura spoke in church today and did super. Her topic was bringing Christ more into our lives.
We were all in pink today. Wearing our fun clothes from Lisa and Clinton's wedding. The boys sure like those pink ties!
Dad has been organizing files in the office, working on taxes, and working on his book. We were both really inspried by James McCullough (famous author) as he was a speaker at one of the general sessions in Chicago. He spoke right on Richards themes of the thrill of learning and we need to bring that back into the classroom. Dad couldn't take notes fast enough.
Well as you can tell (as I'm writing an e-mail) I am feeling fabulous. It is so wonderful to feel good!!
Happy Easter!
Love, Mom

Wedding Craziness
I can't believe all of this. Since Julianne and Joe have gotten home and as we head to Houston it is finally hitting me as to what all of this wedding craziness means: it means I'm the oldest at home, we get two new great people in the family, Clinton and Julianne are offically grown up, there were a lot of invitations sent out, we get to party a lot, and it means there are only four of us left single. Our family is growing up and I think it is crazy, exciting, but crazy.

Clinton...
I remember...
playing baseball and football with Clinton and friends in the front yard of Dunbar. He was so nice about letting me play with his friends...at least until I got a bloody nose.
Clinton taught Natalie and me that upside down chiars make great space ships
Playing office in Clinton's room at Dunbar. Clinton was the boss and gave orders. We were the secretaries
LONG Monopoly games
That's just a start becuase I had a minute and was thinking about it...
